AI should never depend on your family's income.
Millions of students can't afford premium AI tools. Merdot Scholar is our long-term mission to provide sponsored AI learning access to 50,000 verified students across India.
- Verified Students
- Responsible AI
- Privacy First
- Built for Learning
A quiet decision that a student's potential should never be capped by what they can afford to pay.
Every year, millions of talented students lose opportunities · not because they lack ability, but because they cannot afford private tutoring or premium AI tools.
We believe access to world-class AI should depend on curiosity, not income. A student in a small town with real questions deserves the same tools as anyone in a metro · and today, too often, they simply go without.
Merdot Scholar exists to remove that barrier. It gives serious students free, fair-use access to the full Merdot AI workspace, so the deciding factor becomes effort and curiosity rather than the size of a subscription bill.
This is not a marketing campaign. It is a long-term education mission · one we intend to keep building, honestly and openly, for years to come.
The barrier we saw
Talented students priced out of premium AI and private tutoring · not for lack of ability, only lack of budget.
The belief we hold
World-class AI should be decided by a student's curiosity, not their family's income.
The barrier we remove
Merdot Scholar puts a genuinely capable AI workspace in the hands of students who would never otherwise reach one.
The horizon we hold
This is not a marketing campaign · it is a long-term education mission we intend to keep building for years.
A note from the founder

Rajat Jangid
Founder · Merdot Technologies
Hello · I'm Rajat Jangid, the founder of Merdot Technologies. I built Merdot AI because I kept meeting brilliant, hungry students who were held back by one thing they could not control · the price of the tools everyone else took for granted.
Merdot AI was created to change that. I wanted an AI workspace that felt genuinely capable · one that could explain a hard concept at midnight, debug the code that refused to run, and do it in the language a student actually thinks in. Not a stripped-down demo, but the real thing.
Merdot Scholar is where that dream becomes a promise. It exists to put that same powerful AI into the hands of students who would otherwise never afford it · because I am convinced the next great engineer, founder or researcher is already out there, waiting only for a fair chance.
I want to be clear about what this is. Merdot Scholar is not charity · it is an investment into future innovators. When a student learns faster, builds sooner and dreams bigger because of a tool we gave them, the entire country is richer for it. That is a return worth far more than a subscription fee.
If one student changes their future because of Merdot AI, this mission is already worth building.
Ability is spread evenly across India. Access to good tools is not. The Scholar Program exists to close that gap for students who are serious about learning.
The best AI sits behind a paywall
The most capable AI tools are priced for professionals in dollars. For a student in a small town, that is often a month of expenses · so they simply go without.
Coaching is expensive and uneven
Quality tutoring and doubt-solving are concentrated in big cities and premium institutes. Talented students elsewhere study alone, with no one to ask at 11pm.
Most tools assume fluent English
Millions of students think in their own language, not polished English. Tools that only work in polished English quietly leave them behind, no matter how sharp they are.
Help arrives too late, if at all
A confusing concept the night before an exam, a bug that will not resolve, an application deadline · these are the moments students need help most, and get it least.
A student's potential should be decided by their effort and curiosity · not by whether their family can afford a subscription. Merdot AI is putting a genuinely capable AI workspace in the hands of students who would otherwise never get one, and asking only that they use it honestly to learn.
India has the largest student population on earth and some of the widest gaps in access. That is exactly why Merdot Scholar begins here · reaching learners in every kind of place, from metros to villages.
Ability is spread evenly across the country · access to good tools is not. We will grow the map of reached students honestly as approvals roll out, and expand beyond India once the Program is proven. Every location below is a place we intend to reach · not a claim of students already there.
Metro cities
Where ambition is high but premium tools still cost a month of expenses · we start with students already reaching for more.
Tier 2 cities
Fast-growing towns full of capable students with far fewer premium coaching and AI options than the metros.
Tier 3 cities
Smaller cities where good doubt-solving and mentoring are scarce · exactly where a capable AI can level the field.
Villages
Rural learners with real curiosity and the least access of all · the students this mission is most determined to reach.
Future expansion
Once the Program is proven across India, we intend to extend it to students in other countries who face the same gap.
An honest look at what comes next · every step is an intention we are working toward, not a result we are reporting. The 50,000 figure is a target we mean to earn.

The Scholar Program is open to a wide range of students across India. If you are learning seriously, you are probably eligible.
- You are a current student in India · school, college, university, diploma or a recognised institute.
- You are preparing full-time for a competitive exam such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, GATE or a state exam.
- You are a research scholar or PhD candidate at an Indian institution.
- You genuinely need free access · the Program is for learners who would otherwise go without.
- You will use Merdot AI to learn honestly · not to cheat, resell or share your access.
No student ID card or fee receipt? That is okay. Many genuine learners · home-schooled students, self-taught coders, exam aspirants between institutes · cannot show the usual proof. Tell us your situation in the form and attach any alternative evidence you have (an admit card, a bonafide letter, a marksheet). We review these case by case and never reject someone just for lacking a perfect document.
A quick, human review keeps the Program fair for everyone. Send one proof that you are a student · any of the below works.
Student ID card
A photo of your current school, college or institute ID card · the most common proof.
Fee receipt or bonafide
A recent fee receipt, bonafide certificate or admission letter showing you are enrolled.
Admit card or marksheet
For exam aspirants · a hall ticket, admit card or a recent marksheet works too.
Institution email
An official college or school email address helps us verify faster, when you have one.
Your document is private
Whatever you upload is used only to confirm you are a student · nothing else. It is stored securely, never sold, never shared with advertisers, and you can ask us to delete it once you are verified. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Free access comes with a clear intent · this is a tutor in your pocket, designed to make you better, not to do your thinking for you.
Explains, so you understand
The Study and Exam agents are tuned to walk you through the reasoning · why an answer is right · not to hand you something to copy without ever learning it.
Respects academic integrity
Merdot AI is a study partner, not a way to cheat in exams or pass off work as your own. Use it to prepare and understand · then follow your institution's rules on submitted work.
Honest about what it knows
It flags uncertainty and encourages you to verify important facts instead of confidently inventing them. Learning to question an answer is part of the point.
Safe and age-appropriate
Guardrails keep responses safe and suitable for students, and steer away from harmful or dishonest requests · so it stays a workspace you and your parents can trust.
Use it well · the Scholar contract
A study partner works best when it is used honestly. Here is the simple line.
Great uses
- Understand a concept step by step
- Prepare for exams and practise problems
- Debug your own code and learn why
- Improve your English and writing
Not allowed
- Submit AI text as your own work
- Use it during an exam to cheat
- Resell or share your Scholar login
- Pass off answers you do not understand
The Scholar Program is free because partners donate the AI and cloud credits that power it. These simple rules keep it fair · and keep it available for everyone.
Personal and non-transferable
Your Scholar access is for you, one student. It is tied to your account and cannot be lent, gifted or handed to someone else.
Not for resale or commercial use
You may not sell answers, resell access, run a paid service on top of it, or use it to power a business. It is for your own learning.
Generous fair-use access
Verified students typically receive up to 200 AI conversations each day. This limit is intentionally designed to support genuine learning rather than automated or shared usage. Most learners never reach this limit.
Use it in good faith
The Program runs on trust and donated credits. Using it honestly keeps it free and available for the next student who needs it.
Completely fine · use it freely
- Studying late into the night before an exam
- Asking the same topic five different ways until it clicks
- Using it every day across all your subjects
- Uploading your own notes, papers and assignments for help
Gets an account suspended
- Sharing your login so several people use one Scholar account
- Automated or scripted requests that are clearly not a person studying
- Reselling answers, access or output for money
- Signing up with fake or borrowed documents to qualify
- Using the account to generate spam, or content that breaks our Terms
We would much rather approve you than suspend you. If something looks off, we usually reach out first · these limits exist to protect real students, not to catch them out.
Merdot AI is actively seeking responsible partnerships with AI companies, cloud providers, educational organisations and CSR initiatives to expand AI access for verified students.
To be clear: Merdot AI is seeking these partnerships. We do not claim any company is already sponsoring the Program · this section is our open invitation to change that.
API Credits
Model credits or discounted inference from AI providers · the fuel that lets verified students use real, capable AI for free.
Cloud Infrastructure
Compute, storage and bandwidth credits so the Program scales to tens of thousands of students without cost becoming the ceiling.
Educational Partnerships
Institutions, ed-tech networks and NGOs who can help us reach and verify students across India who genuinely need this access.
CSR Support
Corporate social responsibility funding directed at a transparent, grant-ready education access initiative built for reporting.
Research Collaboration
Work with us on responsible AI in education · safety, learning outcomes and access · with real, consenting student cohorts.
Technical Mentorship
Engineering, safety and product guidance from teams who have built AI at scale, so the Program is done right from the start.
